Basketball Rules

Basketball in Australia is generally played in accordance with FIBA Official Basketball Rules, which differ from the NBA rules some players and parents may be familiar with.

To ensure games can be scheduled effectively, some rules for club games, affecting timing, may vary from FIBA rules, depending on the level of competition. Examples may include shot clock usage, quarter lengths, interval lengths and stoppage time.
